At Adecoagro, we continue to strengthen our sustainable production model. That’s why we have added a second biodigester at our freestalls to generate renewable energy from by-products.
Do you know how biodigesters work?
Under a circular economy model, our biodigesters transform cow manure into biogas which is then used to generate electricity. The remaining organic matter then returns to the fields as biofertilizer, nourishing the crops and forages that later become feed for our cows.
Our second biodigester has 2 MW of installed capacity and a potential annual energy generation of 17,500 MWh.
